The British auto maker, Jaguar Land Rover (JLR), has sold a record 29,893 vehicles in November 2012, which is 14 per cent higher than its sales in November 2011. Jaguar Land Rover sold a total of 324,184 units in the 11 month period until November this year, up by 32 per cent compared to its sales figure in the first 11 months of 2011.

JLR sales for the month of November increased for almost all the major markets with an increase of 43 per cent in China, 26 per cent in Asia Pacific, 15 per cent in the UK and 12 per cent in Europe. The sales in North America, however, dipped by 7 per cent, which can be accounted to model year changeover and increased competitions from other car makers.

Jaguar Land Rover sales have continued the upward trend across all its major markets since the start of 2012. JLR sales in China have increased by 73 per cent, in Asia Pacific region by 37 per cent, in the UK by 20 per cent, in Europe by 37 per cent and in North America by 12 per cent.

“Both Jaguar and Land Rover brands continue to deliver strong sales globally. The record breaking performance in our home market, the UK, is great news. The Jaguar XF is starting to gain traction in the market place, while the continued success of the Range Rover Sport and Evoque is encouraging as we are launching our new Range Rover to customers,” said Phil Popham, Director of Group Sales Operations, Jaguar Land Rover.

Land Rover sales figure in the month of November stood at 25,862 units, up by 17 per cent compared to its sales figure in the same month last year. This increase in overall sales of the British car maker is accounted to an increase of 39 per cent in sales of Range Rover Evoque, 3 per cent in sales of Range Rover Sport, 2 per cent in Range Rover Discovery and 53 per cent in Freelander. Land Rover, until now this year has sold a total of 275,000 vehicles, which is 38 per cent higher than its sales in the same period in 2011.

Jaguar sold a total of 4,031 vehicles in November this year, a dip of 5 per cent, against its sales in the same month last year. This decrease in sales is accounted to the people's anticipation for the introduction of the 2013 Model Year XF and XJ model ranges, which include all-wheel drive and new engine options across most markets of the world at the end of 2012. In the 11 month period until November, Jaguar sold a total of 48,908 units, which is 7 per cent more than the sales in the same period last year.
