Italy has given the world some rugged and grunt road cruisers like Alfa Romeo, Ferrari and Maserati. But the craziest and maddest creation from the land of sports car makers is definitely Lamborghini. Right from the rear mid-engine Miura to sharp-edged Countach, the Italian sports car manufacturer has turned innumerable heads on its innovations. A recent addition to the list is Huracan, the successor of modish looking Gallardo. The company has officially unveiled its newest weapon in sport cruise warfare, called the Huracan LP 610-4. The name itself is bewildering, meaning “Hurricane” in Spanish and aptly suffices the robust looking car, barbed with carbon fibre.

Since the introduction of Lamborghini Gallardo in 2003, auto aficionados were appeased with its modern technology and sturdy ride, providing an utmost level of comfort while blistering the roads. By replacing this annihilator, Huracan LP 610-4 aims at accomplishing the unthinkable with an undoubted ability to create a vortex of speed. Experts are believing that after launch, it will witness a direct competition from high performance sports roadsters, Ferrari 458 and McLaren 12C. The trademark bull logo of the company will be crowning the wedge shaped layout of the car, which is all ready to plunge into the battle.

Technologically, Huracan is more sound than its predecessor and holds an immense strength to blaze the tracks. A mid-mounted 5.2-litre V10 engine tapped under the hood develops a humongous 602 bhp of power output with 560 Nm of peak torque. Such amount of torque is capable of dragging a giant wildebeest on the ground and being produced in an automobile, it will certainly thrust Huracan into a missile trajectory. The car also possesses a potential of reaching 0-100 kmph in a minuscule 3.9 seconds, with a top speed attained at over 320 kmph. Lamborghini also introduces its first 7-speed, dual clutch gearbox with this car, named Lamborghini Doppia Frizione (LDF).

The 4-wheel drive of Huracan LP 601-4 is spectacularly comforted by the nimble body design of its hybrid chassis, claimed to be blended with aluminium and carbon fibre. Interiors give a hint of the traditional Lamborghini style with all consoles wrapped in fine Italian fabrics. A toggle at the base of steering wheel helps you chose between the three dynamic modes, comprising performance of stability control system, torque partition in 4 wheels and the efficiency of engine. Wheels are mounted with ceramic carbon brakes, which is standard and an option of magnetic suspension is also available with Huracan.

With Huracan LP 610-4, Lamborghini has somehow attempted to redefine the sports luxury segment. Keeping up its trend, the auto maker has yet again created a stealth-machine, which is soon to be seen roaring on the streets worldwide. Astonishingly, the name of the car, as it is widely believed, is derived from an indomitable bull, like all other Lamborghini cars, who fought in Alicante in 1879. It is hard to compel if the bull will fight with the same muscles but considering the brand of Lamborghini, one gets a feel that it will be a hell of a fight.
