India Yamaha Motor welcomed the New Year with excellent sales figures, recording a 40 per cent increase owing to its diverse product line. The company successfully rolled out 26,300 vehicles in January 2012 in India, as compared to the 21,974 units it sold during the same month in the previous year, marking an increase of 20 per cent. The Japanese manufacturer exported 13,640 units from India in the same month, against the 6,623 bikes it had exported in January 2011. The cumulative sales for the company in January 2012 were 39,940 vehicles as compared to 28,597 units during the same period last year.

Talking about these sales figures, CEO and Managing Director of India Yamaha Motor Pvt. Ltd., Hiroyuki Suzuki, commented, “Continuing with 2011 sales trend, we are very happy with the growth registered in January and plan to keep the momentum high for the rest of 2012. We attribute this growth to the success of our flagship models both in the deluxe and premium segments – R15, FZ series and SZ series. We are planning to enhance our Best 3S (Sales, Service & Spares) set-up in tier-2 and tier-3 cities and increase our customer touch points in the rural areas to further boost our sales.”

In order to further improve its relationship with consumers, the company has started the 'YES!YAMAHA' campaign. Under this initiative, the Japanese bike maker is making continuous efforts to render the Best 3S Experience to the target audience, so that the buyers value Yamaha products and accept the brand with a resounding 'YES'. The manufacturer is working towards enhancing its market credibility by creating consumer-centric marketing programmes, such as Yamaha R15 One Make Race, Yamaha Safe Riding Science (YSRS) for college students & kids and Yamaha Service Camps.
