Gautam Singhania, an avid sports car enthusiast and founder of the country's pioneering super car club, has showcased India's first exclusively built drift car. An ardent race driver himself, Singhania had designed the newly unveiled drift car after winning the renowned Malta edition of All Stars European Drift Championship that was held last September 2012. Further, at the launch event Singhania also aired a short movie about him winning the All Stars European Drift Championship series in amateur category along with an intro covering the rise of drifting as a global motorsport.

Expressing his delight on the launch of his brainchild, Gautam Singhania, Chairman and Managing Director (MD) of Raymond Limited and Founding Chairman of Super Car Club (SCC), was quoted as saying, “Drifting as a motorsport has always attracted and intrigued me. I always wanted to learn this form of motorsport. It was a great experience while competing at the All Stars series. It feels like a great honour to be the champion in one of the most premier professional drifting competitions in Europe. The competition was intense but I managed to win. I will definitely pursue this sport further. The drift car is testimony to that and I have been practising in it to hone my drifting skills.”

Remarkably, Gautam Singhania is also the first Asian and Indian to get into act at the global motorsporting event and eventually winning it also. The Championship witnessed participation from over 30 avid sports car racing and drifting aficionados from all across the Europe battling it out in the final round. Singhania drove a custom made Nissan Sylvia S13 sports car at the racing spectacle and wrapped off with the title by a margin of an incredible 2.5 points.
