Hyundai, the South Korean automaker, will launch a couple of new cars and facelifts of their existing cars in India. The first product to be launched will be the Verna facelift in the first quarter of 2015. The updated sedan has been spotted several times during its test rounds on Indian roads, and it gets changes to both exteriors and interiors.
The Hyundai Verna facelift gets a new front fascia that features new grille flanked by restyled headlamps with projectors. It is equipped with new front bumper that accommodates revised fog lamps with LED surrounds. The rear end of the sedan sports reworked taillights with integrated LEDs. It also sports a new rear bumper and restyled integrated reflectors.
The wheel arches of the updated Verna gets newly styled alloys. Inside, the vehicle looks identical to the current model. We expect few more additions to feature list and updates to upholstery to keep things fresh in the market.
Mechanically, the Hyundai Verna facelift is likely to remain unchanged. The petrol version of the sedan would get the same 1.4-litre and 1.6-litre units, while the oil burners are 1.4L CRDi and a 1.6L CRDi. Power is transmitted to front wheels via a six-speed manual gearbox. It is expected that the sedan would get a six-speed automatic transmission instead of 4-speed gearbox.
