Hyundai has announced discounts of up to Rs 1.7 lakhs on the Tucson SUV to boost the sales of its flagship SUV. The discounts are also seen as an effort to clear the existing stock before the new model is introduced in India next year. Apart from the Rs 30,000 exchange bonus on the Tucson, the company is also offering free insurance and corporate discount amounting to Rs 90,000 and Rs 50,000 respectively.
The current model is available in petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol version is powered by a 2.0-litre engine that generates 153bhp of power and 192Nm of peak torque. The diesel version gets a 2.0-litre engine that 182bhp of power and 400Nm of peak torque. Both the variants are available in six-speed manual and automatic transmission options. The five-seater SUV comes with dual front airbags and ABS and EBD are standard, while the top-spec model gets six airbags.
Back in May, the new Tucson was spotted with a fresh set of cosmetic and feature upgrades. The vehicle is expected to get a new 1.6-litre diesel engine, while the 2.0-litre petrol is expected to be offered with a new eight-speed automatic transmission.
