South Korean automaker Hyundai will launch 4 new products in next couple of years. The company will introduce the new generation i20 hatchback this year, and is planning to introduce a compact SUV and MPV in the country by the end of next year. It is also expected that Hyundai will also launch the new generation Sonata sedan in the Indian car market.
With the compact SUV, Hyundai India is planning to enter into the growing compact SUV segment which is dominated by the Ford EcoSport and Renault Duster. If media reports to believe, the company will launch the ix25 SUV in the country by early 2015. This SUV has already been spotted during its test rounds in select nations including China and Korea. Rumors are also there that the company will launch the Grand i10 based SUV instead of Hyundai ix25. The mini SUV will share its styling cues with Santa Fe SUV and will be made available in petrol and diesel guise.
Hyundai India is also working on a compact MPV, which is expected to be based on the Grand i10 hatchback (BA) platform. It will directly compete against the likes of Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, Chevrolet Enjoy and upcoming Honda Mobilio MPV. This model will be offered in both petrol and diesel fuel options.
