      Hyundai puts up details of new 2012 Sonata on website

      Hyundai India has hosted details of the upcoming Sonata on its official website, fuelling speculations of the model's impending launch. The company has put up the technical specifications of the car, information regarding its exteriors and interiors, dealerships, brochure and downloadable wallpapers on the site, along with other general information. This model had earlier been showcased by the second largest car manufacturer of India at the 2012 New Delhi Auto Expo in January.

      New Sonata's exteriors have been developed on Hyundai's popular Fluidic platform. Its look has been inspired by the Orchid flower and the company has succeeded in combining elegant form with practical functionality. The carefully-crafted head and fog lights complement the wide front chrome grille denotes the power and class of the new Hyundai Sonata. Streamlined body lines that run across the vehicle render it with a calm look, while the posterior features LED combination lamp and chrome-tipped dual exhaust.

      According to Hyundai India's website, the new Sonata will have a host of comfort and convenience features, such as steering with audio remote and Bluetooth function, and heated and power mirrors. Along with these, the model will also have a cool glove box, 10-way adjustable driver seat with lumbar support and dual zone fully automatic climate control.

      Technically speaking, the car will have a 2.4 L GDI petrol engine that renders 200 hp of maximum power at 6300 rpm. This 4 cylinder motor has been supplemented with a 6 speed automatic transmission mechanism for smooth gear-shifts. Its safety features include dual front airbags with passenger detection system, side and curtain airbags and Electronic Stability Programme (ESP). Antilock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), brake assist, reverse parking sensors and impact sensing door unlock will also be present in the car.
