Hyundai has been recently testing the i20-crossover car for quite some time now. There have been a lot of speculations about the new car and its impact in the industry in 2015. The car has been spotted doing the test rounds. Apart from the i20-crossover, the ix25 SUV has also been seen several times on the road. The cars were spotted in Chennai recently and though they were heavily camouflaged, it created a lot of anticipation.

The i20 crossover car is primarily based on a premium hatchback and looks like a proper crossover and not an extended hatchback. The ground clearance as well as the height has been increased to give it a SUV-like stance. This allows the car to give a comfortable ride even on bumpy and challenging roads. The car has been provided with alloy wheels, which gives the car an additional edge over the other models. The most significant changes have been provided on the rear side car.

The interiors of the car can be expected to be sportier with more features. The hatchback has been made a standard with additional features on the interiors of the crossover. Hyundai targets 90 per cent localization so that the price of both the models can be made aggressively. The crossover will be competing against the Fiat Avventura, Volkswagen Polo Cross, Toyota Etios Cross and the Maruti SX4 S-Cross. The car will be powered by a 1.2 litre Kappa2 petrol mill and a 1.4-litre diesel engine, which works on the i20.
