Honda Siel Cars India Limited showcased its upcoming hatchback concept model at the Delhi Auto Expo 2010. The model was codenamed as CV2 and now it is rumoured to carry a brand name of ‘Honda Brio’ meaning both the funny car and small. The model will feature a 1.2L petrol engine and will be competitively priced offering premium luxury in a small car. It will compete with models like Skoda Fabia, Maruti Swift, Hyundai i20 and upcoming Toyota Etios.
According to the pictures of the model and the concept design showcased at the Delhi Auto Expo, the design is quite similar to Chevrolet Beat already existing and successful in the Indian market. The model has similar concept of having its door handle on the rear window frame rather than the door itself.
Honda is also expected to launch a sedan based on Honda Brio’s platform but till now Honda’s hatchback model is expected to go on sale in India by March 2011.
