The Honda Fit facelift has been unveiled in Japan. The JDM equivalent of the Honda Jazz, this third-generation model has been given a slew of visual updates for 2017.

The Honda Jazz facelift gets a new front fascia with a redesigned front bumper and LED headlamps, fog lamps and DRLs. Inspired by the 2017 Honda City, this new fascia gives the Jazz a muscular look. It rides on redesigned 16-inch alloy wheels. The tail gate features a spoiler, the tail lamps have been revised while the rear bumper has also been redesigned. Inside, it gets new dual-tone upholstery although there has been no change in the layout.

The Jazz facelift continues to be offered with 1.2-litre i-Vtec petrol and a 1.5-litre i-Dtec diesel engine options. The petrol gets the option of a five-speed manual or a CVT gearbox, while diesel car buyers have to make do with just a six-speed manual gearbox. There are no changes under the skin.

We do not expect the new Jazz facelift to be unveiled in India before the 2018 Auto Expo. The current Honda Jazz was launched in India less than two years ago, and has been garnering decent sales numbers. However, the numbers are still meagre as compared to its rivals – the Hyundai Elite i20 and the Maruti Suzuki Baleno.
