      Honda introduces 'Anniversary Edition' of Amaze, sells over 80,000 units in one year

      Honda India has launched ‘Anniversary edition’ of its popular compact sedan, Amaze to celebrate one year of the sedan’s existence in the domestic market. Honda is offering ‘Anniversary edition’ in VX and S trims in both petrol and diesel variants. Both the variants will cost Rs 71,861 more than their standard price. A host of new features are being offered on the ‘Anniversary edition’ of Amaze sedan including front under-spoiler, side under-spoiler, rear under-spoiler, trunk spoiler along with door visors and exhaust pipe finisher. Inside the cabin, new upmarket upholstery has been bestowed complementing well the wooden finish panel on the dashboard. The special edition units of Amaze sedan will be affixed with the ‘Anniversary edition’ emblem.

      Honda Amaze was the first vehicle from the stables of Honda India to be offered in diesel avatar followed by City sedan. The compact sedan has been received well by the Indian customers and is a major contributor in Honda India’s monthly sales. Within one year of the sedan’s launch in India, it has found over 80,000 homes across the nation. In March 2014, Honda India sold 7,374 units of Amaze compact sedan out of the total 18,427 units sold in the respective month. Amaze is available in petrol and diesel engine options; the petrol version is powered by a 1.2 litre i-VTEC engine that produces a maximum power and torque output of 88 PS at 6,000 RPM and 109 Nm at 4500 RPM. Diesel version is packed with a 1.5 litre i-DTEC motor capable of engendering 100 PS of top torque at 3600 RPM along with 200 Nm of peak torque. The diesel motor delivers a segment best ARAI certified fuel economy of 25.8 kmpl.
