      Honda continues upward sales trend, registers highest ever domestic sales

      Honda India is basking in glory by posting a growth of 83.4% in March 2014. As per the data released byHCIL, the company has recorded highest ever monthly domestic sales at 18,426 units in March 2014 as against 10,044 units in the same month last year.

      HCIL also registered 83% growth in fiscal year 2013-2014 by selling 1,34,339 units as compared to 73,483 units sold in the last fiscal. Besides this, it is the highest ever annual sales posted by company. Company followed upward trend in export front too with 5798 units exported to overseas markets as compared to 2622 units in last fiscal. A whopping growth of 121% has been registered by Honda in export. The strong growth achieved by the company is on the back of its newly introduced Amaze compact sedan, the first ever compact sedan launched by auto maker in India. Amaze was also the first model to be inducted in diesel version followed by City sedan in January 2014.

      Expressing delight on the company’s sales performance, Mr. Jnaneswar Sen, Sr. Vice President, Marketing and Sales said, “We are thankful to our customers for the great response we have achieved from them for our two big launches of Amaze and All New City during the past financial year. The year also witnessed our entry into the diesel segment with i-DTECdiesel engine technology which has received an overwhelming response from the market. With both manufacturing plants in operation, as well as two new models, the stylish mid-sizedMPV, HondaMobilioand the all-new Honda Jazz due for launch this financial year, we look forward to another year of growth. We will increase our dealer network by 35% in this year by reaching out to more tier 2 & tier 3 markets which will be instrumental for our growth." The company currently has 170 facilities in 107 cities in its network.
