Honda Philippines has officially launched the ultra limited edition of City sedan with authentic Mugen accessories. What's more intriguing is that the Indian auto market might witness the arrival of this edition soon. Mugen is a Japan-based firm dealing in engine tuning and manufacturing of auto parts. The company has been closely associated with Honda and the duo has successfully executed the City Mugen project to perfection.
The car is so exclusive that only 20 units will be manufactured by the company in Philippines. All models will have the standard shade of Taffeta white colour and will only be available in a petrol variant. Body of the car flaunts an all new sporty look and is lumped with spoilers at front, side and rear portions to enhance its aerodynamic layout. The company claims that with such design and technique inputs, the car will be easily recognisable on roads and is sure to leave onlookers completely astonished.
Honda City Limited Mugen edition, or dubbed as City Mugen edition, is incorporated with a 1.5-litre iVTEC engine, under its hood. The engine churns out a maximum power of 118 bhp with a peak torque of 147 Nm. It is melded with a 5-speed automatic transmission, assisting the car to unleash on roads with all strength. With a price tag of around Rs. 13.5 lakh, experts are of a view that it will completely stir the competition in executive sedan segment.
Notably, Mugen happens to be an acknowledged name in the international Motorsport industry, where the company has been involved with the likes of Formula One racing. It was the sole supplier of Formula Nippon engines till 2005 and adjacently has been providing retuned and enhanced engine to Honda's automobile for the Super GT championship. As Mugen is collaborating with Honda again to create City Mugen edition, it is widely anticipated that the legacy of former will be reflected in the designing of the car. It will be interesting to see if Indian buyers are ready to accept their supreme sedan in this avatar.
