      Honda CBR 650F expected to be launched in last quarter of 2015

      It has been a well known fact that Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) is a strong brand in the Indian two wheeler segment. Sources have stated that Honda may launch the CBR 650F sometime in the last quarter of 2015. It is also said that Honda has been planning on launching a new 160cc premium motorcycle by the end of this year in India.

      Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI), has been relying on the upcoming festive season that has reportedly boosted CBR 650F sales in the past. Speaking more on the occasion, YS Guleria, Vice-President, Sales and marketing, HMSI, stated that “September and October are crucial months for us and it’s time to step on the gas now. We should be able to cross the 400,000 unit sales mark this month (September 2014). We launched the most affordable bike, the CD 110 Dream recently to build this momentum for the festive season.” The company has reportedly achieved sales numbers of about 17.6 lakh units within just about first five months of FY2015.

      Speaking more on the importance of upcoming festive season, the Dhanteras day is considered as one of the most awaited one for OEM's in India. HMSI has reportedly sold about 100,000 units on the festive Dhanteras day last year .Speaking more on the last year's sales Guleria said, “We hope to sell double of what we sold last year on the Dhanteras day, and we are working accordingly to not only stock our dealerships with products, but also on the advertisements, ATL and BTL activities to boost sales.”

      The upcoming Honda CBR 650F shall be powered by 649cc four cylinder liquid cooled engine. The powerful bike shall be launched locally and spares shall be imported through CKD route. Pricing aspect is unknown for now and it shall be known post an official launch announcement made by the company. Pricing aspect and technical specification of the 160cc premium commuter motorcycle is also unknown for now and may be revealed sometime soon.
