Honda’s CBR series bikes have been quite popular in the power-bike segment in the country. A while ago Honda also had hinted on launching a bigger capacity CBR known as 300R sometime soon this year. Now, latest reports received from sources have indicated that the Japanese bikemaker may launch the CBR 300R bike sometime in December this year.
The Honda CBR 300R is stated to be powered by 286cc single cylinder four-stroke liquid cooled engine that generates about 29 bhp of power with 27 Nm of torque. The powerful engine shall be mated to a six speed gearbox. Unlike the existing CBR 250cc single headlamp unit, the 300R gets dual headlight assembly along with better performance figures. The exhaust pipe gets a cylindrical design, lower seat positioning and well centered ride position.
The bike is expected to be launched in USA first at an attractive price tag of about USD 4,399 (Rs. 2.60 lakhs), whereas the ABS version is expected to be priced at about USD 4,899 (Rs. 2.90 lakh). The company has not reveled the price tag for the Indian market, but it is anticipated that it may be priced under Rs. 3 lakh segment.
