Honda Brio has been a stylish offering by the Japanese car-maker in India. Till now, the hatchback has been offered in petrol trims in the country and now news has been doing rounds that the company may usher in a diesel trim sometime soon. The anticipated diesel version of Honda Brio is likely to receive a new 1.2 litre three-cylinder diesel engine.
The new diesel trim of Honda Brio shall feature the smaller capacity diesel engine as against 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel unit that serves the current lot of Amaze, City and Mobilio. The smaller engine shall also power the upcoming Jazz hatchback in India. Developed on lines of Honda's popular i-DTEC engine line, its shall be one of the most fuel efficient hatchback in the country. Apart from stylish design the vehicle shall also sport a redesigned interior. The diesel trim powered by 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel engine that is capable of generating about 100 PS of power and 200 Nm of torque.
