Honda has launched its robust scooter, Activa 125 in two variants- the STD variant and DLX variant. The STD variant is priced at Rs 52,447 and the DLX variant is available for Rs 58,156 (ex-Showroom Delhi). Honda had displayed new Activa 125 at the 2014 Auto Expo held in February, dealers started accepting bookings soon after that and deliveries have now begun officially.
In March 2014, basic Activa posted overwhelming sales outstripping its rivals in two-wheeler segment including Hero Splendor and emerging the best selling scooter in India. Powering the scooter is an efficient 110cc engine, various attributes like austere design, low maintenance cost and worthy resale value makes Activa a viable option in two-wheeler segment. Besides Activa, Honda also offers Dio and Aviator equipped with 110cc engine. Dio is popular among young customers. Besides, Aviator, Activa125 is the second scooter from its line-up to get disc brake option.
Activa 125 flaunts a new design between the body and side indicators. Cosmetic touch ups are visible in the form of suave decals, a new speedometer has also been equipped on Active 125.
Honda has affixed 12-inch 90/90 section tyres in the front, while rear sports a 10-inch 90/100 section tyres. Five spoke alloy wheels enhance the overall appearance of the scooter. Front gets a telescopic forks and spring loaded hydraulic type suspension is affixed at the rear. There is an option of 190 mm font disc brake, while 130 mm drums brakes are offered as standard at the rear. Combi Brake System at the rear is also offered as optional feature. The new Activa 125 gets a 125 cc, four stroke, single cylinder motor that is mated to a V-matic CVT gearbox. The engine develops a maximum power of 8.6 Bhp and a top toque of 10.12 Nm.
