Hero MotoCorp has been leading the pack of two-wheelers for quite some time in the Indian market; however, the company is not quite in the best of positions when it comes to the category of scooters. Honda has been able to lead this segment with considerable ease. The Activa of Honda has been a best-selling model for a number of years. The demand of Activa has always surpassed the waiting period and the company has done everything possible to promote this scooter. The company had recently launched the 125 cc version last year and the waiting period is no different as of now.
The extensive waiting period is undoubtedly giving the dealers some extra time to make their customers more impatient. The wait period is equivalent to half-an-year almost and when it comes to scooters, it does not make sense quite really. The dealers are asking for a premium of 10000 INR on the existing price for instant delivery of the model. This is in turn making the customers pay a sum equivalent to the price of a Vespa just to cut through the queue. However, the Activa has been able to hold the customers for that period just by its brand image.
The Honda Activa 125 has demanded a waiting period of 5 months right from the beginning of its launch. The company needs to expand its production set-up if it wants to reduce the time of its waiting period. The Activa has been tagged at 64964 INR for the standard model while the Deluxe model is priced at 71493 INR.
