      Hero MotoCorp makes new appointments in management team

      India's largest two-wheeler manufacturer, Hero MotoCorp, has recently announced two new appointments in the top level management team, which are going to be implemented immediately. This strategic move has been put forward to bring the company's vision to its next stage of transformation at a dynamic pace. First in the position is Rajat Bhargava, who has joined as the Head of Strategy and Performance Transformation and second in line is Marcus Feichtner, who will be heading a new department called- Engine Design and Development. According to the reports, Bhargava will be an integral member of Hero MotoCorp's leadership team as well.

      Pawan Munjal, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Hero MotoCorp, recently spoke about this change in management. " We are today presented with an array of exciting opportunities on a number of fronts. Capturing them sharply will be a critical priority for Hero MotoCorp. He (Bhargava) will develop and execute the group performance agenda, define and drive special initiatives, and support me on our performance transformation initiatives," he was quoted as saying.

      He further added, "As we go through one of our most exciting phases, a technological ecosystem will also form the core foundation of our growth. This is where Markus will play a critical role with the ideal credentials, experience and domain knowledge in strengthening this development process."

      Pulling the portfolio records of Marcus Feichtner, he was earlier an Executive Director at the AVL's India Technical Centre, which is based in Gurgaon, Haryana. Owing to AVL's partnership with Hero MotoCorp, Feichtner has been closely associated with the company while working there for quite a long time. He is one of the global engine specialists who has strategically been responsible for amalgamation of technical leadership and business development at AVL's India Technical Centre. But from now on, taking the new appointment in consideration, Feichtner will report to the Head of Research & Development (R&D), whereas, Bhargava's reporting will be directly to Munjal, sources have claimed.

      Rajat Bhargava, on the other side, is a B.Tech graduate in Computer Science and Engineering branch from IIT, Delhi. He further completed his studies by pursuing MBA course from Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad. Not only this, Bhargava has been awarded a gold medal for brilliantly performing at the academics during his post graduation degree. A few years later, he became a Senior Co-partner at the Gurgaon branch of McKinsey & Company, the world renowned multinational firm. There, he worked with other suppliers and companies along with Automotive OEMs, in order to enhance the organisation productivity.

      He has been instrumental in the success of McKinsey’s Operations and Industrial Practices in India. Apart from this, he got the coveted opportunity to lead Purchasing & Supply Management Practice in Asia Pacific. During his stint at McKinsey, Bhargava was he involved with the likes of Automotive OEMs and suppliers. He also worked with other firms in the industry in order to devise strategies, ensure improvement and facilitate transformation. His impeccable professional record involves associations with companies based in several regions, such as Australia, Europe, North Asia and Africa.

      On the other hand, Anadi Pande has been appointed as the Director of School of Business & Management by Hero MotoCorp. With this reputed position in hand, he will join BML Munjal University, a new establishment situated in proximity to Gurgaon, Haryana. If one takes a look at his profile history chronologically, then at Hero MotoCorp, Pande was the Head of Human Resource Management and Corporate Planning & Strategy. Prior to this, for several years, he served as a faculty member at IIM, Lucknow.
