Hyundai, the renowned automobile giant is providing attractive discounts on its Santro Xing and i10 hatchbacks to increase the sales of its passenger car segment. Petrol cars in India are continuously performing negatively in terms of sales. Even the entry level car segment is not generating good results as the customers are moving toward diesel engine vehicles. i10 and the Santro Xing, which were once the most popular hatchbacks, registered lower sales in the April 2012.

At present, the company is offering Rs. 35,000 cash discount on the Hyundai i10 and the Santro Xing models. On both these cars, the customers also get option to choose from 1 Rupee yearly insurance and 3 year-40,000 Km maintenance plan. This scheme directly provides Rs. 42,000 benefit to Santro Xing buyers whereas i10 buyers can save Rs. 46,000. Hyundai India is quite positive that these massive discounts will boost the sales of its entry level cars. Santro Xing and the i10 hatchbacks are also offered in LPG-Petrol dual fuel options.

As a part of Hyundai’s limited period “5 Star Assurance Program”, these discounts are offered. In this program, the company has combined many offers like exchange/loyalty offer of Rs. 15,000, 24 x 7 roadside assistance for 2 years, and warranty assurance program with increased warranty for the third year or up to 40,000 km.

By these offers, the company is providing stiff competition to General Motors India, which provides a 3 year, 36,000 cashless maintenance offer on most of its cars. Even the largest car manufacturer of India Maruti Suzuki and the automobile giant General Motors are offering cash discounts on their petrol cars.

Hyundai i10, which is one of the largest selling hatchbacks in the country, comes with attractive interiors. It is placed above the Eon and Santro Xing. Customers preferring tall body design and conservative styling find the Santro Xing the best entry level vehicle. With the launch of Eon, the company has seen huge sales shifting to the new car due to which it was compelled to provide heavy discount on the Xing.
