      Green Cars from BMW, Ford and Peugeot

      It seems auto makers around the globe have strong desire to paint the globe green. It’s the age of eco-car and Nissan Leaf, Mercedes B-class Fuel cell car are already unveiled. Now BMW, Ford and Peugeot are getting ready to reveal their eco-cars at the upcoming Frankfurt Auto Show.

      BMW has been acclaimed as the greenest automaker for the fifth year in a row by the Dow Jones Sustainability Index World. BMW beats top dogs like Toyota Prius and Chevrolet Volt in spite of their strong banding strategies. The Dow Jones Sustainability Index World, has declared BMW Group to be the "most sustainable automobile company worldwide.” The company is now developing a new eco-car, based on their Vision Efficient Dynamics Concept.

      Peugeot has also released the new pictures of a electric car called ‘iOn’ which will go on sale from end of next year. The new model from Peugeot is a four-door car which will debut at the upcoming Frankfurt auto show.

      Ford Transit

      Ford is ready to address the needs of commercial vehicle customers as well. Next year, the US customers will have the all new Ford Transit EV which is the new delivery van from Ford in 2010. The pre-production versions are already rolling down the line of Ford's project partner – Smith Electric Vehicles, in North East England.
