Honda, the Japanese car maker, it seems, is on a roll as the firm has enjoyed prolonged success in the Indian market. Things have were looking not so good for Honda a couple of years back as it was not able to get a decent market share. On being labelled as brand that does not make vehicles for masses in India, Honda decided to change its perceived image. According to reports, Honda realised the importance of targeting mass buyers in India for gaining a sizeable market share. In the first half of 2013, Honda launched Amaze compact sedan in India, which, incidentally, was its first diesel car in the market. The firm had pinned high hopes to this compact sedan for raking numbers and it has performed beyond expectations. It is being said that Honda is hoping to capitalise on this success and build on it further. Industry experts feel that given the expected line-up of Honda in the near future, its chances of success are really bright.

According to reports, Honda is going to launch a number of cars in Indian market in the next two years. One car that is expected to make its way to India soon is the Brio based Multi Purpose Vehicle (MPV), which has been showcased under the name Mobilio in Indonesia. Since the firm has already started pre-bookings, it has managed to attract attention of many buyers in Indonesia. Figures claim that Honda Mobilio has recorded around 4500 pre-bookings, which can be considered quite impressive. Also, it is being said that the manufacturing of this MPV is going to commence manufacturing of this car in January 2014. Industry experts feel that given the kind of response the Brio based MPV has got in Indonesia, Honda will be tempted to launch it in India soon. Although chances of an early 2014 launch of Honda Brio MPV in India is likely, everything being said, as of now, is based on mere speculation.

Honda is not going to stop after launching the Brio MPV in India. Some sources have claimed that the Japanese car maker is going to bring in the diesel version of Honda City in India in 2014. No launch date has been confirmed as yet but strong rumours have been surfacing for a long time now. City, by far, has been Honda's most successful model in India since its launch many years back. Now, since the firm has achieved success with the Earth Dreams diesel technology, it is willing to launch City diesel as well. Experts feel that Honda City diesel could be a game changer in its segment, giving all best sellers a run for their money. Apart from this, reports have claimed that Honda is going to launch the revised version of Jazz in India as well, in order to compete in the premium hatchback segment.
