      Fiat set to enthral buyers with new Fiat Punto and Linea

      Fiat India Automobiles, a Joint Venture (JV) between Fiat Group Automobiles S.p.A. of Italy and Tata Motors of India, exhibited a new generation of 2012 Punto and 2012 Linea on 3rd January 2012. With these cars, the company has set new heights for performance and luxury through their respective models.

      Both of these cars are packed with high-end features and are perfect examples of Italian design and technology. The new Fiat Linea is available in 2 variants, namely 1.3 Advanced Multijet Diesel and 1.4 Fire Petrol, whereas the Fiat Punto will be offered in 3 versions  - 1.2 Fire Petrol, 1.4 Fire Petrol and 1.3 Multijet Diesel. All these models are incorporated with exciting and innovative features, which are all set to enthral the buyers.

      Talking at the launch event of the 2012 Linea and Punto, Rajeev Kapoor, President & CEO, FIAT India Automobiles Ltd., said “At FIAT it is our constant endeavour to provide customers with newer and better cars with timely upgradation in comfort and technology. Since customer satisfaction is of utmost importance, we continuously look at ways to provide better value through our cars. With the launch of 2012 Linea and Punto this year our customer can enjoy an experience which is delightful and uniquely FIAT.”

      These elegant cars are available in exciting, vibrant colours to attract the domestic buyers. The option of new colours like Oceanic Blue with the earlier set of colours, including Tuscan Wine, Fox Trot Azure, Exotica Red and Sunbeam Beige, will give an adrenaline rush to auto aficionados.

      The interiors of these performance oriented cars are completely refreshed with the introduction of new interior theme colours. Fiat has packed its 2012 Linea with the most advanced features, which include auto switch on/off headlamps and rain sensing wipers. The company has significantly emphasised over the improvement in the quality of the main attributes of the car, such as air conditioning, ground clearance and NVH for diesel variants.

      In addition to these modifications, buyers will also be introduced to a new set of features and equipment in the car. These features include a premium quality music system from the base variant, automatic air conditioner, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Break-force Distribution (EBD), alloy wheels and airbags. Further, the mid variants of 2012 Linea are also packed with ‘Blue and Me’ infotainment system.

      Moreover, the luxury diesel variant of new Linea is provided with chrome interiors, leather seats and 16 inch alloy wheels. With all these luxurious features and technological advancements, the Linea 1.3 Advanced Multijet Diesel delivers impressive fuel economy of 20.4 kmpl, while the 1.4 Fire Petrol runs around 14.6 kmpl. 

      In addition to 2012 Linea, Fiat has also assimilated the 2012 Punto with extra power and appealing design. In order to offer a sporty look to the new edition of the vehicle, the car is provided with increased ground clearance, Punto 1.2 with 195 mm, and Punto 1.4 as well as 1.3 with 185 mm. The base variant of this car is packed with an audio system, front power windows and central locking, which makes it the only car with such features in the entry level. Moreover, world class features like fabric seats, new bright grey interiors, door trims and carpeted flooring will surely attract hatchback enthusiasts. With these features and equipment, the new Punto 1.2 Fire Petrol delivers an efficient fuel economy of 15.2 kmpl, 1.4 Fire Petrol runs 14.6 kmpl and 1.3 Multijet Diesel offers 20 kmpl.

      With these upgradations in Punto and Linea, the company is likely to lure the Indian buyers, who do not seem to be impressed with Fiat’s portfolio in India.
