The recently collaborates automaker biggies Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) has planned to inaugurate about 15 new Jeep dealership outlets in the country. The showrooms shall be exclusive for Jeep variants that shall be offered here, and the numbers are expected to double up the next year.
The first ones to hit Indian shores this year would be the Grand Cherokee and the Wrangler, which shall be brought in the country via the CBU route. The Jeep Grand Cherokee shall be powered by three engine options namely – 5.7 Liter V8 Petrol engine that generates about 360 hp or power with 530 Nm of torque, 3.0 Liter V6 diesel engine that generates about 240 hp of power with about 570 Nm of torque, and 3.6 Liter V6 petrol engine that generates about 290 hp of power with about 350 Nm of torque. All the powerful engines shall come mated with 8-speed automatic transmission.
The Jeep Wrangler trim shall be available in only one engine options namely a 3.6 Liter V6 petrol engine that is capable of generating about 285 hp with a maximum torque output of about 350 Nm. The powerful engine shall be mated to optional 6-speed manual transmission or a 5-speed Automatic transmission. Apart from these Jeep may also launch their all new global SUV sometime in 2017 and if reports are to be believed it may be rolled out from the Fiat India’s Ranjangaon facility in Pune.
