The number of movies released by a particular franchise is a huge indicator of its success. Keeping that into perspective, the Fast and Furious franchise has come a long way ever since the first film released in 2001. Now, according to Yahoo! the success of this film series has been immortalised by Universal Studio Hollywood, which will open a theme ride for Fast and Furious in June, 2015.

Several Hollywood franchises have theme rides at Universal Studios, such as King Kong, Jaws and Jurassic Park. Reports claim that this ride, set to start in just under two months, seems to be as exhilarating as the multi-billion dollar earning franchise.

A preview video has been released and it showcases the Fast & Furious Supercharged ride. The video features actor Vin Diesel in the beginning and then shows fans taking the ride amidst sequences starring the likes of Tyrese Gibson, Michelle Rodriguez and Dwayne Johnson. Though the Fast & Furious franchise, which released its seventh film in April, is known for producing stunts featuring cars dropping from airplanes, the ride’s video component was made in front of green screens and artificial shells representing automobiles.

The video features a design engineer from Universal Studios explaining why green screens were used in shooting. “If you tried to shoot an experience like we’re creating here of driving through the streets of L.A. at 120 miles per hour with the actors and the cars and special effects, that it would be impossible to shoot,” the engineer was quoted as saying. Adding further, another engineer said that production of a film for a ride and a real movie are different activities altogether. High detailing has gone into designing the ride film in order to ensure fans have all angles covered.
