Tata, the name synonymous with automobile in India has over two decades of expertise in this industry. The Tata Safari car has undergone many technical changes since its inception in mid 90's. As per reports, during the initial days, the SUV was powered by 2.0 litre engine which was later upgraded to 3.0 litre.

The new Safari Storme was unveiled at the 2012 Auto Expo show. The fresh face was rather welcoming, the car had smoother curves and had shed it bulging look. The SUV is powered by 2.2 litre that generates an impressive power of about 140 bhp and 320 Nm of torque. Moreover, the Tata Safari Storme has shed the previously used DICOR technology and has received a VariCOR (Variable Turbine Technology) engine. Late Karl Slym, Managing Director of Tata Motors, once stated, "In the Tata Safari Storme, we once again demonstrate Tata Motors' commitment to customer centricity. We were the first to introduce SUV's in India. We now leverage our experience and customer understanding, creating an ideal SUV for today's motorists, who desire in their vehicle a perfect combination of versatility and luxury".

The freshest from the Safari line is the Safari Storme Explorer edition. The car has retained the existing 2.2 litre VariCOR turbocharged engine. This car has been launched to appease its off-roading fans. The newer version comes with bolder front nudge guard, 'Explorer Edition' decals on the sides and bonnet of the car. Moreover, the car also sports a door visor, which is helpful during monsoon or while driving at high speeds. The feature that truly makes it an explorer is a roof-mounted Canopy-lets, letting you head off to the remotest corner and explore the jungle!

The car is loaded with interesting features, is value for money and reliable, but amidst the line-up of new cars from International car-makers, this true Indian off-roader has been often overlooked. Design upgrades have been done in past, but we believe the car can really hit the market with an overall design makeover. The Tata Safari Storme and Safari Storme Explorer feature almost the same technical specifications, but the Explorer Edition has been designed to handle your special expedition trips to the unknown!
