The commercial truck maker Daimler India Commercial Vehicles Pvt Ltd has announced to launch 18 new truck models in the Indian market under its Bharat Benz brand over the period of next 18 years.
While speaking to the reporters in Jaipur on Monday, Mr. V Sreeram, Assistant Vice President, Marketing and sales, said, "We would be launching 18 models in next 18 months and the launch would start from October this year. The trucks will be customized as per the need of Indian market."
He added that the company is focusing on network of dealerships as well as after sale service so that their target of grabbing a 20 percent share in the commercial truck segment by 2020 can be achieved.
The 'BharatBenz Power Yatra', an 8000-km pan-India drive that was initiated from Chennai, reached to Jaipur recently after covering states like Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Maharashtra and Gujarat. The new initiative ('BharatBenz Power Yatra') to reach out to truck drivers and transporters will now be entering Haryana from Rajasthan. While speaking about this pan India drive, Mr. Sreeram added, "During our journey, we spoke to truck drivers and transporters and showed them the performance of the vehicle and took their feedback."
