Now Tata is planning to launch a cross over car in the Indian market. According to the sources, it shall be developing the new vehicle at its Pune plant. It had initially launched a model, Tata Xover, at the Geneva Motor Show in 2005. It showcased a seven-seater vehicle with the new generation engine. At that time, the company had announced that the car would be manufactured for the European markets but there had been no further announcements for the cross-over model.

It is still not clear whether the same model showcased in Geneva would be same that would be manufactured in Pune. In India this vehicle shall be competing with Toyota Innova and GM Chevrolet Tavera and shall possess all features of luxury car combined with features of sports utility vehicle.
