Skoda is hoping a good response from customers and car enthusiasts post the launch of this new vehicle in the Indian automobile market. At present, Skoda Laura is available for sale in the country and the comparison can easily begin from the price of both vehicles. Notably, the price range of Skoda Laura lies between Rs. 14.55 lakh and Rs. 19.27 lakh, while Octavia is expected to cost between Rs. 14 lakh and Rs. 18.50 lakh. Just looking at these figures, one can easily make out that Laura is slightly priced higher than Octavia. Moreover, the price difference in top variants is more as compared to base versions of both the cars. Coming on to exteriors, Skoda Octavia is slightly better placed as against Skoda Laura. Front fascia of both the vehicles closely resembles with each other. However, Octavia posses sharp edged headlamps and pronounced fog lamps as compared to Laura. But Laura has got more chrome surround on the front grille. The rear portion of both the vehicles have a close match with each other.

If interiors of both the cars are compared, we will find that Octavia gives out more as compared to Laura. The cabin of Laura is marked by wooden design interior decor and chrome interior door handles. The dual tone Onyx-Ivory upholstery used in the cabin helps to heighten the space sense. To further add to the comforts, the driver's seat features a one touch operation that can be used to electrically adjusted for under-thigh, lumbar, height, recline and length setting of the seat. On the contrary, the new Octavia features a 12-way electrically adjustable driver seat with three memory settings in order to store the seat and mirrors position for three different users.

Also, with one-touch operation, individuals can easily adjust the seat position to the stored memory values. Octavia has a panoramic sunroof with tinted glass that can be electrically controlled. This means that the roof window can be easily tipped out or moved backwards as desired. Also, the new Octavia uses a windscreen to reduce wind noise along with redirect airflow for enhanced passengers' comfort. On the technical front, the new Octavia is expected to come in 1.8-litre and 1.4-litre petrol versions, along with 2.0-litre diesel version. Also, the 2.0-litre diesel mill will be mated with either a six-speed manual or automatic transmission options. Skoda Laura also comes with different engine options as different variants of this sedan make use of either a 1.8-litre TSI engine or a 2.0-litre TDI CR powertrain, equipped with an option of manual and automatic transmission modes.
