Enjoy will be the Chevrolet India's third model, which has been sourced from GM-SAIC joint venture. The first model was said to be the Sail U-VA hatchback, launched somewhere in November, which was then followed by the recently introduced Sail sedan. Sail sedan was launched on February 1, 2013 and happens to be the first launch of Chevrolet India for the year. Following the launch of this model, the auto maker has now marked its presence in the B car segment, which is believed to be the fastest growing segment in the ongoing sluggish market conditions.

Initially, Chevrolet Enjoy was showcased at the 2012 New Delhi Auto Expo, and was able to pull the masses across its stand. Industry experts believe that the auto maker will introduce the MPV in both petrol and diesel guises, in order to lure a large number of buyers. Coming to under-the-hood figures of the upcoming Enjoy MPV, the petrol variant is expected to feature a 1.4 litre petrol engine, which will belt out a maximum power of 94 bhp with a highest torque of 127 Nm. On the other hand, the diesel guise is anticipated to come equipped with a 1.3 litre diesel fiat multijet power mill, which will churn out a maximum power of 89 bhp with a maximum torque output of 200 Nm.

Reportedly, the trial production of the model has been already started at the auto maker’s Halol plant and therefore, its launch seems around the corner. Presently, the Indian portfolio of Chevrolet includes 8 models, namely Spark, Sail U-VA and Beat hatchbacks; Aveo U-VA, Optra and Cruze sedans; and Tavera and Captiva utility vehicles.

With the launch of a new model, the auto maker is looking ahead to establish a strong foothold in the Indian auto market. The new Enjoy MPV of Chevrolet is expected to deliver a stiff competition to Mahindra Xylo and Tata Safari, among others, which are currently ruling the respective segment.
