      Ceat Tyres are setting-up Rs. 400 Crore project in Butibori, Nagpur

      Ceat tyres has been delivering safe drive experience to Indian motorists for decades now. To further strengthen its footing in tyre segment in the country, the company is reportedly investing about INR 400 crore in a state-of-the-art tyre plant located in Butibori, Nagpur. To mark this auspicious moment, the cornerstone of the plant was laid by Devendra Fadnavis, Hon’ Chief Minister of Maharashtra. The plant is likely to be set-up in three phases, the first 400 Crore investment would be for the first phase that is due for completion by 2016 and the first tyre roll-out is likely to begin by April in the same year.

      Reportedly, the state-of-the-art tyre plant has been spread across 60 acres of land and is capable of manufacturing about 1.2 Million tyres. Speaking more on the occasion, Mr. Anant Goenka, Managing Director, CEAT Ltd. said, “With this plant we are looking to double our capacities within two years. This will give us the added impetus to increase our market share. We are thankful to the Maharashtra Government for the support given to CEAT. Butibori gives us great advantage of reduced logistics cost and a plant in a central location. In addition to that MIDC will support us by providing a great ecosystem and infrastructure for the manufacturing facility.”

      The company states that the new plant shall have the best in class technology and will be capable of manufacturing two and three wheeler tyres. The production process will be supported by certification of ISO 14001 for environment management system and OHSAS 18001 for safety, health and environment. Straight from the world market the new plant shall be utilizing highly automated manufacturing machinery. Moreover, the two wheeler production volumes are also expected to double in the next two years owing to its enormous capacity.
