Indian tyre manufacturer Ceat Limited has been a popular choice in the local market. With the start of monsoons in the country, the risk of accidents also grows considerable, a majority of which happen due to poor tyre condition. Ceat has announced the 'Monsoon Smart Campaign' for bikers who are worst affected during the season. The Indian tyre company has undertaken the ‘Bike Tagging’ programme that shall identify and tag about four-and-a-half lakh worn out or bald tyres.

Speaking more on the occasion, Mr. Nitish Bajaj, VP, Marketing, CEAT Ltd, said, “India accounts for about 10% of road crash fatalities worldwide and monsoon is one time of the year that witnesses maximum accidents and mishaps. Safe driving and maintenance of tyres should be top priority during monsoons, and CEAT wishes to spread this message with our annual Monsoon Smart campaign. We got great response to the campaign last year and we plan to reach out to riders across the country through this initiative.” The company has set about 232 Free Tyre Clinics spread across different towns and cities, high traffic zones, colleges and fuel stations to educate the riders on the importance of a good set of tires.

Moreover, Ceat has also launched the ‘CEAT Tyre Assist’, a monsoon assist mobile application that assists with complete solutions for bike tyre related issues. The Android powered app is a free download and assists the bikers with details as to where their vehicles are parked. Apart from receiving tips on maintaining tyre health, the app also recommended tyre size and pressure. The app has been developed by LogicTree IT and is available for download directly from Google Play Store.
