      Car Makers Slash Prices Across All Their Models

      Car makers are rushing to pass on the excise duty cut benefits to their customers. Maruti Suzuki India had already announced earlier that it will slash prices on its car models with Alto getting cheaper by nearly Rs. 9000 and Maruti 800 getting cheaper by Rs. 6500. The newly launched car Maruti A-Star is also cheaper by Rs. 16664 and SX4 sedan is cheaper by Rs. 24000. The company has not reduced prices of its SUV, Grand Vitara. All other car makers have also announced the price cuts on their models such that the nearly all car models have gone cheaper by 3-3.5 percent.

      Hyundai Santro model (GL) is also cheaper by Rs. 8834 while the top end model Hyundai Sonata has witnessed a drop of Rs. 44792 in its car prices. The most popular model from Hyundai, the i10 is cheaper by Rs.11247 to Rs. 18381 depending upon the model.

      The Japanese car maker, Toyota, has also announced slash in its car prices with Toyota Corolla Altis getting cheaper by Rs. 40,750. Other models from Toyota will be cheaper by up to Rs. 32,780.

      The Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) has welcomed the monetary measures taken by the government to curb the car prices. Mahindra and Mahindra has also announced a slash in prices on its popular models like Scorpio and Bolero.
