Rajasthan has been a land of good food, Historic palaces and open wide road that make it a good tourist destination. Royal Enfield lovers who are always on the roll on new expedition trips do make it a point to visit a unique temple known as Om Banna or Bullet Baba temple in Rajasthan. Riders often visit the spot located on National Highway 65 in Pali to pray for a safe journey ahead.
History has it that Om Banna, son of a village leader met with fatal accident at the same spot when his bike skidded and hit a tree. Banna's love for bikes was very known in town and he got the bike immediately after his marriage. Post clearing the accident scene by the Police, the vehicle was seized by them and was taken back to the station. But to everyone's surprise the bike returned to the very same spot the next day where the accident took place. Assuming it be a mischief, Police had taken the vehicle back to the station, but every time it was taken back the vehicle would return to very same spot every night. Police reportedly also tried chaining the bike and emptying the fuel tank but nothing reportedly worked. Many truck drivers in the area have also reportedly seen OM Banna asking for a lift from them.
Locals also have a strong belief and offer flowers and bangles at the spot. They have given a godly status Banna and often newly married couples and newborns are brought to seek blessings from Om Banna. The interesting part is, many offer the bullet beer to appease the omni figure. The bike is placed near the tree where it hit.
