Having previously concluded the three rounds at the Madras Motor Race Track (MMRT), Chennai and Kari Motor Speedway, Coimbatore, the fourth round seems exciting as the top two drivers in the table are separated by just 34 points. Ishaan Dodhiwala with 408 points is leading followed by Karminder Pal Singh at 374 points. Competition between the two for the championship will be fierce. Keith Desouza (324 points) is currently third while Niranjan Todkari, is currently running at fourth. Both of them will be trying hard to push themselves further up in the championship.

The Formula One track is new to many drivers in the race. And hence, for adapting quickly to the conditions and getting familiarised with the track, Volkswagen Motorsport India will arrange a testing session on 28th September 2016.

The Vento Cup car is powered by a 1390cc, Direct Injected 4-cylinder inline forced induction engine with an output of 178bhp. Meshed with a 6 Speed automatic - sequential DQ 250 by a Wet Dual Clutch, is a two wheel drive with a Limited Slip Differential.

The winner of the Vento Cup 2016 will be awarded a fully sponsored season in the MRF 1600 series and the Junior Champion will receive a sponsored season in 2017 Volkswagen Motorsport India one-make racing series.

Sirish Vissa, Head of Volkswagen Motorsport India, on the exciting final round, said, “We at Volkswagen Motorsport India have seen the drivers evolve remarkably through this season and this is evident by the number of fresh faces finishing on the podium. They will now have to implement the learnings they have gathered in the final round of the Vento Cup 2016.” He went on to add, “Some of the drivers have already experienced this track which should give them an edge over the others but I am also confident of the new drivers being nimble enough to take the fight to the finish!”
