      BMW X4 crossover expected to launched in India by March 2014

      Willing to capitalise on the growing demand of SUVs (Sports Utility Vehicle) in the Indian automobile market, BMW is seemingly all set to introduce the all new BMW X4 crossover vehicle. Though the specific launch date is yet to be announced, there is rife news that this high-end utility vehicle will be hitting the Indian auto market in March 2014. Notably, the BMW X4 Concept vehicle was introduced at the Auto Shanghai, held in April this year. It is expected that the production version of this car will be built in Spartanburg in 2014. However, BMW has not specifically revealed if the debut of this utility vehicle will be at the Geneva Motor Show. But, nonetheless, the news that BMW X4 crossover would be launched in Indian market is heartening for customers and car lovers.

      It must be mentioned that the craze of SUVs in the Indian automobile market is pretty evident from the fact that SUVs like EcoSport, Scorpio and Duster have got a good response. The sale numbers have further prevailed as the testimony to rising demand of utility vehicles among domestic customers. Further, the auto giant, Maruti Suzuki, has also revealed its intention grab opportunities that prevail in this car segment. Development of Maruti Suzuki XA Alpha to mark its space in the SUV segment is a testimony to the same. Thus, BMW also does not want to left behind in the SUV race; however it will pitch in the premium segment. Many industry experts have decisively hailed this initiative from the luxury car maker, which is expected to make its presence by the end of March, 2014.

      The all new BMW X4 is certainly based on the X3′s architecture while featuring the design of BMW X6. Notably, engines that are currently been used in X3 model (2.0-litre with 240 bhp and 3.0-litre with 330 bhp) are expected to serve the all new X4 model. BMW X4 is likely to get an all-wheel drive system for enhanced driveability, however, nothing is sure as of now. The BMW X4 utility vehicle is expected to measure 4.64 metre. It is shorter by 53 mm and wider by 34 mm as compared to the X3. The boot space of this vehicle is likely to be around 500 litres that is roughly 50 litres less as compared to X3 car model.

      It must be noted that BMW cars are known for their impressive exteriors and lavish interiors. To this expectation, the all new X4 persists triumphantly with a sleeker and sportier stance than the X3, along with stylish headlights that have been merged neatly with its kidney grille. As such, this all new vehicle is expected to boast of a dexterously carved front fascia. According to the information available from various sources, the production of all new X4 will begin in early 2014 at BMW USA’s Spartanburg plant. Once launched in the Indian automobile market, the X4 is likely to compete against the likes of  upcoming Porsche Macan, the Range Rover Evoque and the Mercedes-Benz GLK.
