Bajaj Auto, India's well appreciated two-wheeler maker, has finally launched the Discover 125T model in the domestic auto market. With the introduction of a new model, the auto maker has expanded its product portfolio in the 125 cc executive segment. After pulling off the curtains from the new model in Tamil Nadu, the General Manager (Sales) of Bajaj Auto, Aswin Jaikanth said that the new motorcycle is expected to target those buyers who are looking for both performance and comfort.
Currently, the auto maker retails Discover T and 125ST in the category of 125 cc. He added, “It will fill the gap between the Discover 100T and Discover 125T, offering comfort and performance.”
For added comfort, the new Discover 125T has been offered with a long seat and nitrox twin shock absorbers, which facilitates the model to smoothly glide over the Indian potholes. On addition of a new model in the mass 125 cc segment, industry experts are of a view that a major share of this respective segment is garnered by the Honda Shine. Other key players of this respective segment are Hero MotoCorp Super Splendour, Glamour and Ignitor, among others. Off late, the Chennai based auto maker, TVS Motor Company also marked its entry into this segment with the launch of Phoenix.
At a price tag of Rs. 54,022 for the drum brake variant and Rs. 57,070 (all prices are ex-showroom Chennai) for the disc version. It must be noted that Bajaj Auto has already delivered more than 4.50 lakh units of its Discover 100T and 125ST during the last year and thus, has launched a new model under the Discover series with great hopes.
