The new generation version of the premium luxury sedan Toyota Camry is all set to be unveiled in the Indian market in the first week of next year. Toyota Kirloskar will be uncovering the all new 2012 Toyota Camry sedan at the Delhi auto expo 2012, in the National Capital.
The new Camry model will be a JDM (Japanese Domestic Market) spec version of the car. The car will be carrying a number of upgrades at both exterior and interior fronts. It seems like the company has decided to give the new Camry a less sporty and more classic look with new lesser aggressive headlights and smaller grille at the front.
The company is looking forward to save some cost by importing this car through CKD (completely Knocked Down) unit route, followed by assembling the car at its Bidadi plant.
At present, the company imports the Toyota Camry premium sedan through CBU (completely Built Unit) route, accounting for over 100 percent of excise duty on the imports of CBU units.
By importing the new 2012 Camry through CKD route, the company will be able to price the car more competitively in its segment. The new Camry is expected to give a tough fight to its rivals like Honda Accord, Nissan Teana and Volkswagen Passat.
