In a bid to give its portfolio models a new breath of life, the Germany based leading luxury car maker Audi has launched an all new exciting design change initiative – AQR – in the global market. The new AQR design change initiative will see extensive design changes in the Audi portfolio models over the period of coming few years. The move of launching new design initiative came after the company faced much criticism over lack of innovativeness of its cars. For instance, car enthusiasts around the world have complained of similar designs of its sedans like A4, A6 and A8, and even Q series sports utility vehicles.
While informing about this new design initiative, Mr. Stefan Sielaff, who will be heading Audi AQR, said, "We know that some people think our saloons look too alike and are well into a project to change that we will mainly do that with the proportions of those cars. And it will mean differences, say in the way the headlights meet up with the grille; the design details will be different."
In India, Audi is third largest luxury car maker following BMW and Mercedes Benz on 2nd and 3rd position, respectively. The company aims to become the top luxury car seller in India by year 2014.
