The exceptional Prologue Coupe concept was unveiled at the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show, which was a preview of the new styling themes, which were devised with the guidance of recently appointed chief Marc Lichte. The automobile manufacturer has revealed the future product, which started from the next-generation A8 flagship sedan, which is set for 2016. The concept car was in the form of a coupe but Audi is not planning a two-door sedan. The Prologue had shown the preview of Audi future models, especially coupes and sedans.

Once the Prologue concept is in place, this one is sure to influence the look of Audi Sportbacks and Avante. It features four traditional doors with a fifth door on the rear end. The tail-light treatment is similar to the design, which has been motivated from the original Prologue concept. These are joined by a roof-mounted spoiler, which are placed at the rear end.

An important change made to the Prologue Avant is that the powertrain has been boosted. The original model coupe had a 4.0-litre TFSI V8 mill, which is tuned to deliver a huge 605 hp and 553 pound-feet of torque. The second Prologue coupe is with an autonomous capability, added with a hybrid tech to the same V8. This boosts the output to 667 hp and 701 pound-feet of torque. The third one has been provided with a diesel-based plug-in hybrid setup, which has been declared by Audi to be quite similar with the new Q7 e-tron Quattro.

Incidentally, a 3-litre TDI mill has been paired with an electric motor integrated with the eight-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission. The Prologue Avant has the combined output of 455 hp and 553 pound-feet of torque. The upcoming Q7 e-tron Quattro is rated at 373 hp and 516 pound-feet. The Prologue Avant has the power to sprint from rest to 62 miles per hour in 5.1 seconds.
