The Indian unit of Germany based leading luxury car maker, announced on Sunday that it will gift a brand new Audi car to the smashing Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh for his stupendous all-round performance in the recently concluded Cricket World Cup 2011. It is to be mentioned here that Yuvraj Singh was selected for man of the match award in the 4 out of 11 matches played by the Indian team in the tournament.
Way back in 1985, the former all-rounder of the Indian cricket team, Ravi Shastri, was gifted a Audi 100 for his 'Champion of Champions' performance in the World Championship of Cricket in Australia. The Tournament was won by India.
The company said in a release, "Audi India decided to keep the tradition alive and rekindle the fire of victory." It added, "The memory of the 1985 victory lap in the Audi 100 continues to live on in the minds of Indian cricket fans even today."
The keys of the new car will be gifted to Yuvraj Singh by Ravi Shastri and Anil Reddi (Head of Sales of Audi India) at a soon to be announced date.
