Audi A3 launch expected in first week of August

The next big launch from Audi is its entry level premium sedan A3. It has been learnt from close sources that the company will launch the sedan in India in the first week of August. Audi had displayed the saloon at the 2014 Delhi Motor Show held in Greater Noida earlier this year. Following A3 sedan launch, A3 Cabriolet and A3 hatchback will also be brought to India by last quarter of current financial year. From the beginning the saloon has been grabbing eyeballs due to its affordable pricing, it is being expected that Audi could price the base version at Rs 25 lakh which is extremely frugal. Dealers too have been getting galore enquiries for the sedan especially by young buyers.

To keep the price on lower side, Audi have missed out on certain features, though from what we have seen during Auto Expo and on the test mules, the sedan will get bi-xenon head lights with daytime running LEDs and large inlets on front bumper. Detailed equipment list will be unfolded on the day of launch.

Petrol range of the sedan will come housed with a 1.8 litre TFSI engine that belts out a maximum power of 168 Bhp along with a top torque of 320 Nm. Diesel trims will be packed with a 2.0 litre TDI powertrain pumping out 150 Bhp of maximum power and peak torque of 320 Nm. Power is transmitted to the front wheels of the vehicle through Audi’s six-speed S-Tronic dual-clutch gearbox.
