The legendry British car luxury car maker Aston Martin marked its debut in the Indian market on Friday at a ceremony held in Mumbai. The popular car brand will be competing with the likes of Ferrari, Maserati, Volkswagen's Bugatti and Lamborghini in the Indian market.
Speaking to the reporters on the occasion, Michel Van Der Sande, chief commercial officer, Aston Martin, said, "India represents a new opportunity for us. Our decision to bring the Aston Martin brand to India is driven by a strong level of interest from potential customers in an emerging luxury market."
The luxury cars model of Aston Martin that are to sold in the Indian market include V8 Vantage Coupe and Rapide, which have been priced at Rs 1.35-2.75 crore.
The company has selected Performance Cars, a division of Infinity Cars, as distributor of Aston Martin cars in the Indian market. With the opening on new dealership in Mumbai, the company has strengthened its dealership network in the global market to 134 dealers in 42 countries.
Besides India, the company has also marked its entry into a number of new markets including Brazil, Chile, Croatia, Czech Republic, Greece, Taiwan and Turkey in recent months.
