Catching a glimpse of your favorite star riding a bike on a public street is indeed a rare sight. But the star being pulled up by law enforcers for not abiding by rules is indeed not a pleasant sight. Actor and former governor of California, 67-year old Arnold Schwarzenegger was spotted riding a bike with a helmet. As per regulation in Victoria, it is mandatory for every biker to wear a helmet to ride a bike, failure to do so may attract a penalty of about $146.
While speaking to Fairfax Media, Senior Constable Robert Gillson said, “I saw a group of cyclists riding ahead of me and we just went up to do a routine intercept. Then we noticed that Arnold Schwarzenegger was in the crowd. We spoke to him briefly and had a little chat with him about the reason why I pulled him over. He was very likable and very approachable. He stated that his father was a policeman, so there was very much mutual respect there.”
The constable decided against fining the actor as he believed in educating tourists coming from countries where riding without helmet laws are not prevalent. In this case too, he directed the actor to the nearest store and asked him to purchase a $5 helmet.
