Maruti Celerio was the first model in the nation to get the Automated Manual Transmission or the AMT system. This was the way in which Maruti stamped its authority not only in the segment, but also in the automobile market. The Celerio has the same 1 litre K10 engine, which is the same as in Wagon R. It is capable of generating a power of 67 bhp. Together with AMT, the car becomes a great option for drivers, who like to have a peaceful thing on the road. The best advantage of AMT-enabled cars is that they are not completely automatic, which allows them to get accustomed to the traffic conditions. The fuel efficiency is also quite high with 23.1 kilometres per litre. Pricing is quite affordable at 4.49 lakhs INR and Celerio can be quite a good option for the mass.
Maruti has also introduced the same technology in the Alto K10, which makes it the cheapest model to have such a technology in India. This also makes it the first model in its segment to get this technology. Apart from making it easier to drive, the car is also lighter and more fuel efficient. The Alto now is capable of producing 24 kilometres per litre, which is approximately 15 per cent higher than the standard variant. The price of this model is slated at 3 to 3.5 lakhs INR, which makes a great choice.
