Stunt driver Alastair Moffatt has been well known across the globe for his driving capabilities. This time around Moffatt has registered a new record in his name for parking a Fiat 500 into Tightest Parallel Park spot. The record was made in controlled conditions at the Performance Car Show held at the 2015 Autosport International Racing Car Show. Working as a master instructor at Stunt Drive UK, he measured a mere 7.5cm to spare between two vehicles, thereby breaking his own previous record of Tightest Parallel Park at about 8.6cm. Apart from this, he also has held records for Tightest Double Parallel Park and Tightest Triple Parallel Park.

Speaking more on his accomplishment, Alastair said, “It’s wonderful to have my record back! With the gap getting ever smaller, finding the right vehicle is increasingly important, so the light weight, agility, dimensions and parking-friendly shape of the FIAT 500 makes it perfect to getting into even the tightest parking spots.” Commenting further on this astonishing feat, Kate McLaren for FIAT UK ,said, “We’re delighted that Alastair chose the FIAT 500 to reclaim his parking crown and we congratulate him on his remarkable achievement! Obviously, we don’t recommend that people attempt such amazing maneuvers in public, but it’s good to know just how maneuverable a FIAT 500 really is in the hands of a trained professional.”

The car driven to achieve this marvelous feat has no modifications made to the vehicle's engine, gearbox, chassis or brakes. Only, ESC required to be disconnected to allow the FIAT 500 controlled using just the handbrake, and to tackle the abrasiveness of the surface, the tyre pressures were increased. Apart from this, Alastair has also added a steering knob for superior handling.
