      Agra Taj car rally boosts adventure tourism in India, Digvijay Singh wins the event

      The Agra Taj car rally witnessed about 80 contestants coming from 8 major cities in India. The event was flagged off at Lion Safari in Etawah by UP chief minister's wife and Kannauj MP Dimple Yadav. Para athlete and Arjuna award winner Deepa Malik has been the star attraction at the event that was organized by Motor Sports Club in collaboration with the UP tourism department. The event had about six women teams and 20 mix doubles teams participating.

      Kyati Modi, a rally participant from Dubai, said, "The rally has been an exciting journey. There were lots of challenges due to the geographical conditions and tricky checkpoints but the demanding moments kept the excitement going. I've been a part of various car rallies but this one was really a tough ask for me as it made me to push beyond my limits."

      Hyderabad's Digvijay Singh and his co-driver Mokhtiyar Ahmed were announced the winners of Agra Taj Car Rally. Gaurav Gill, India's ace rally driver, at the price distribution event said, “The rally created lots of buzz across the national rally scene and witnessed healthy participation, both professional and amateur. With much enthusiasm, all the participants presented an excellent balance of time and disciplinary skills. I am confident that the magnitude of the rally will rise in times to come that will allow UP to promote tourism in a much grander scale.”

      The two day rally that spanned about 450-kms was based on the TSD format (time, speed, distance) and ran through scenic places like Lion Safari in Etawah, Chambal ravines, National Highway No. 2 and Agra on the first day, whereas on day two its passed through Agra Fort, Chambal Valley and Chambal Wildlife Sanctuary, Jarar and Brara.
