The C-segment hatchback has received a few subtle tweaks to give its rivals, Volkswagen Golf, Seat Leon and the Renault Megane, a run for their money. The leaked images reveal a reworked fascia with a new mesh grille and redesigned front bumper. The DRL strip on the bumper is retained with a minor design change. The redesigned bumper now houses square-ish fog lamps and bigger air vents. The bonnet creases are redone as well. Moving on to the side, the new stylish alloy wheels complement the car even better. The rear, however, seems unchanged apart from the tail light’s new lighting signature.

The updated 308 seem to have missed out on the second generation i-Cockpit from the French manufacturer. The new and advanced virtual i-Cockpit made its debut in the new 3008 SUV last year and is expected to make its way into other models in the manufacturer’s line-up. Until then, the 308 soldiers on with its simple and convenient dashboard and a spacious cabin.

Engine wise, the current powertrain options will continue to power the 308. Apart from that, the new 308 is expected to get a newly developed 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel engine with two states of tune. The French carmaker hasn’t disclosed any details of the new updated 308, but there are speculations that the car is scheduled for June this year. The hotter GTI version is expected to follow suit later.
