Here are the few cars that we expect to see at the Hyundai stall at the 2018 Auto Expo.
The most important cars from Hyundai will be the facelifts of the two hot-selling cars in their stable – the Creta SUV and the Elite i20 premium hatch. The Creta had received a few minor tweaks a few months back. However, it was limited to an additional paint scheme and a few additional equipment. The SUV got a more comprehensive cosmetic makeover in China and we speculate the same to trickle down to the midlife update for the Indian-spec Creta. The current Creta has remained untouched since 2015 now and hence the new and updated one will debut at the Expo stage.
The Elite i20, on the other hand, has been spotted on a couple of occasions already. The most prominent update for the hatch is the new fascia with a redesigned rear. The characteristic cascading grille and front bumpers will be revamped to keep the car fresh for another couple of years. A new gasoline engine is also on the cards.
Hyundai might also utilise the opportunity to reveal the all-new AH2 hatchback. This new hatchback has been spotted testing already and is speculated to be a spiritual successor to the iconic Santro. It will occupy the position of the i10 in the Hyundai line-up. There is no official word from the Korean manufacturer regarding the new hatchback or its newly-developed four-cylinder engine.
Apart from these, Hyundai might also showcase their technological prowess in electric mobility with the Ioniq EV. The Ioniq is the first hybrid car from Hyundai and has been on sales in various global markets since 2015. The carmaker has plans to locally assemble the Ioniq to showcase as to what the automaker is capable of offering with regards to green motoring.
The all-new Hyundai Kona will also celebrate its Indian premiere at the Expo stage. The newly developed Kona will slot in below the successful Creta and take the game against the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza when it arrives. The Kona is already on sale in international markets. Hyundai plans to appeal to the urban Indian car buyers with their new lifestyle vehicle.
